Boredom and creativity

Boredom leads to creativity.

Once mind is free from livelihood chaos, everyone becomes an artist.

Low or 0 creativity is the result of over-consumption or a busy mind.

Some of my observations on creativity:

1. Content consumption is inversely proportional to creative thinking.

More entertainment, more binge watching, more scrolling, more news, more work = Lesser and lesser creativity.

Avoid cheap dopamine and unreal joy from screens.

2. Read less, think more.

Reading less at a time but thinking more and more about it gives room to deeper understanding and creative ideas emerge.

(Creativity ∝ 1/Consumption)

3. Limiting beliefs kill creativity.

Assuming that I cannot do a particular thing; because I have no experience about it; is direct threat to potential creativity. You do it first, experience is the byproduct of action, not a prerequisite.

(“Believe it!” ~ Naruto)

4. Nature, ether and ideas.

It is said, and experienced, that you get better ideas in nature, while walking outside. Ideas come in mind directly from ether.

Be outdoor often.

Summary:

  • Creativity ∝ Boredom
  • Creativity ∝ 1/Consumption
  • Read a little, think more.
  • Limiting beliefs kill creativity.
  • Ideas come from ether.
